Making masala tea powder is a straightforward process that involves blending various spices together. Here's a simple recipe to make masala tea powder at home:


 INGREDIENTS :

THE SPICES IN MY FAMILY’S CHAI MASALA, BLACK PEPPER, CLOVES, NUTMEG, CARDAMOM, SAFFRON,  GINGER. CINNAMON.


  • 1 SMALL CINNAMON STICK -
  • BLACK PEPPERCORNS -
  • TBSP WHOLE CLOVES-  -
  • 1” FRESH GINGER   -   
  • 3 CUPS WATER     
  • 1/2 CUPS MILK  -     
  • 6 TSP LOOSE BLACK TEA LEAVES -   
  • 5 GREEN CARDAMOM PODS 
  • SUGAR TO TASTE  

 


Instructions:

Begin by gathering all the spices and ensuring they are ground to a fine powder.In a dry and clean mixing bowl, add the black tea leaves along with all the ground spices: ginger powder, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, and nutmeg.

Mix the spices and tea leaves thoroughly until they are well combined.

Transfer the masala tea powder to an airtight container or a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid to preserve its freshness.

Store the masala tea powder in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. It will remain fresh and flavorful for several months.


To prepare masala tea:


Add 1 cup of water to a saucepan and bring it to a boil.

Add 1 teaspoon of masala tea powder and 1-2 teaspoons of sugar (adjust to taste) to the boiling water.

Add 1 cup of milk and simmer the mixture for a few minutes until the tea is infused with the spice flavors and the milk is well incorporated.

Strain the tea into cups, and your homemade masala chai is ready to be enjoyed!
